2 c. brown sugar
1 c. Crisco shortening
2 eggs
salt (a pinch)
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla (or lemon extract)
Gumdrops (cut into small pieces)
Options: raisins, nuts, coconut, dates, etc.

1. Cream sugar and shortening together well.
2. Add eggs and pinch of salt, mix well.
3. Add flour, soda, cream of tartar & vanilla.
4. Add gumdrops, or other item (s).
5. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
6. Bake 10-12 min. Don't over bake!

Recipe from Blake's mom. This was always his favorite cookie growing up. I didn't make them often because cutting all the gumdrops was tedious. Once he became diabetic, I didn't make them.
But, since it's your grandma's recipe I wanted to include it.
