Notes: This was one of my Mom's (Emma Herrman) recipes. I loved this soup! Grandpa Herrman had a farm in Baroda Michigan and my Dad (Bud) would plant rows and rows of green beans. Grandpa Herrman would sell them in Benton Harbor off the back of his truck for 25 cents a bag. I have many memories of going with him to the poor neighborhoods and ringing doorbells to tell them Charlie was here with his vegetables! He was a blessing to many people, even when he walked with crutches and I was able to go and help. My Mom fed our family of 7 with this pot of soup! Those dumplings would stick to our ribs. It is delicious. Better the next day! Enjoy xxoo
