2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Zest of an orange
1/3 cup of chilled butter
1 egg
2/3 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup currents

GLAZE:
1 cup powdered sugar
3 TBSP orange juice
zest of orange

Directions:
Directions:
1. In small bowl, pour enough boiling water over dried currents to cover. Let stand for five minutes and drain well.
2. In large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt and zest.
3. Using a pastry utensil, blender cut in butter until mixture is size of coarse crumbs.
4. Add currants and toss to coat.
5. Make a well in center and set aside.
6. In small bowl, mix egg and buttermilk.
7. Add all at once to flour mixture until moistened.
8. Turn on to a flour surface and knead to a 10x12 rectangle.
9. Place dough on lined cookie sheet.
10. Flatten into 8" circle.
11. Frequently dip knife into flour and cut dough into eight wedges and separate.
12. Bake at 400º for 20-25 minutes.
13. Cool on rack for ten minutes and cover with above glaze.
