Cake:
5 eggs separated
5 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder

Filling:
1 jar E.D. Smith Lemon filling ( found in the jam section)
1/2 Litre whipping cream

Topping:
1 1/2 cup sliced almonds
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F
Grease and flour a 9 x 13 cookie sheet or line with parchment paper.

Best egg yolks,vanilla, sugar and water until foamy. In a separate bowl beat egg whites until stiff.
Sift flour and baking powder on top of yolk mixture
Fold egg whites gently into yolk mixture.
Pour in pan and bake for approx 17 minutes or until golden.Cool

Beat whipping cream.Stir in lemon filling.

Cut cake into 3 equal parts. Fill layers with cream mixture, stacking them as you go. Cover the whole cake with the rest of the filling.

In a frying pan brown the almonds,butter and sugar. Sprinkle on top and sides of cake.
