1 cup sugar
3 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
Few grains of salt
1 cup crushed strawberries
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup water
1 baked 9” pie crust
1 3-oz package cream cheese
1 cup whole strawberries
1 cup whip cream or Cool Whip
1/4 teaspoon almond extract in whip cream or Cool Whip
2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Directions:

Combine first 6 ingredients in saucepan. Cook until thick and transparent, stirring constantly. Cool.
Spread shell with softened cream cheese. Stand whole strawberries in cream cheese. Pour sauce over this. Cover with Cool Whip and chill.
