1 c. flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. raisins
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/3 c. brown sugar, packed firmly
2 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg into bowl. Add shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Stir in oats and raisins, then drop spoonfuls of batter onto greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 350º for 12-15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and cool on wire racks.
