2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon allspice
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk
3 eggs
Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour cake pans.
Sift flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, soda and spices into a bowl. Add brown sugar, shortening and buttermilk. Beat 2 minutes. Add eggs. Beat 2 more minutes.
Bake at 350 degrees 35-40 minutes.
Frost with Seven Minute frosting and sprinkle with coconut.
