12 slices of extra thin bread
Butter
1 pound of sausage
1/2 pound grated sharp cheddar or 1 (6 oz.) package sliced Swiss cheese
4 eggs
3 c milk




Directions:
Directions:
Trim crusts from bread and lightly butter. Sauté sausage until lightly browned. Place 6 slices of bread in a 3 quart casserole, buttered side up. Spread half of the cheese and crumbled sausage. Place 6 slices of bread on top followed by the rest of the cheese and sausage. Lightly beat together eggs and milk. Pour over sausage mixture. Press down until milk comes through. Refrigerate overnight, uncovered. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
