5 cups sugar
5 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
5 teaspoons vanilla
1 bag chopped pecans
2 teaspoons salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour five medium-sized bread tins or pans. Cut up dates and mix with five tablespoons butter, two tablespoons salt, two tablespoons baking powder, and two tablespoons baking soda. Add four cups of hot water and let stand for ten minutes.

Add five cups of sugar, four eggs, and mix. Add five cups of flour and five teaspoons of vanilla. Mix in chopped pecans. Pour into bread pans and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
