8 chicken breasts (OR use 1 roasted chicken from Sam's)
1 medium chopped onion
1/2 cup butter
1 8 oz can mushrooms
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 small can Pet evaporated milk
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp tabasco
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp Accent
2 T pimientos chopped
2 cans green tip asparagus
1/2 cups slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion in butter and add remaining ingredients, except asparagus and almonds. Simmer sauce til cheese melts. To assemble, place a layer of chicke in a large casserole, a layer of asparagus and a layer of sauce. Repeat layers ending with sauce. Top with almonds. Bake at 350 degrees til bubbly. Do not add liquid even if it looks dry. It freezes well.

This was a Sunday dinner favorite - we would often have Deedee, Motsie, Linda, Steven, Aunt Ann, Linda and Paul's family and others! We created some great memories! As John was growing up (after many covered dish suppers), he told his Daddy that he hated the 'c' word...CASSEROLE!!! LOL! Well, here's a recipe with the 'c' word! Hope you enjoy it!
