Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Bread
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup butter, softened (1 stick)
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1/3 cup skim milk
3/4 cup coarsely chopped cranberries
3/4 cup finely chopped apple
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Glaze
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
2 teaspoons milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

To make bread:
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a large bowl until well blended. In another large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until well blended. Alternately, beat flour mixture and milk into butter-sugar mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Stir in cranberries, apples, and walnuts until just combined. Turn into a greased and floured loaf pan.

Bake 50 to 60 minutes, until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool bread 10 minutes in the pan on a wire rack. Remove loaf from pan and cool completely on rack.

To make glaze:
Combine confectioner's sugar and milk in a bowl until smooth. Drizzle over bread.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Growing up, my mother (Wendy McCabe) made this seasonal sweet bread every year for our annual Christmas Eve party. She always saved a loaf to enjoy with our family's Christmas morning breakfast. I have carried on the tradition of baking the bread at Christmastime, and also bake mini loafs of the bread to gift to family and friends so they, too, can enjoy it Christmas morning.
