1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 cups cake flour
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract (if making pound cake)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat on medium speed of electric mixer for 10 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour mixture, alternately with milk and flavorings. Bake in a bundt pan for 1 hour and 25 minutes at 375º for pound cake style.

Cake can also be baked in 3-4 layers at 375º for 20-25 minutes and then frosted with Penuche frosting (recipe follows)
