2 eggs
3/4 c milk
1/2 c fine, dry bread crumbs
1/4 c chopped onion
2 T parsley
1 t salt
1/2 t sage
1/8 t pepper
1 1/2 lb meat (ground beef, chicken, pork, or sausage)
Topping
1/4 c ketchup
2 T brown sugar
1 t mustard powder
dash of worcestershire sauce

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º
Combine eggs and milk. Stir in crumbs, onion, parsley, salt, sage, and pepper. Add meat and mix well. Turn into loaf pan, pat into uniform shape. Bake for 1 1/4 hour. Spoon off excess fat. Combine topping ingredients and smooth over top of loaf, bake an additional 10 minutes. Remove excess fat and serve.

I personally prefer 1 lb ground beef and 1/2 lb breakfast sausage.

The topping is pretty sweet, I love it but half the family does not. I usually make two one with topping, one without. Both are great
