1 head cabbage, need 12 large cabbage leaves
1 lb. hamburger, uncooked
1/8 lb. sausage, uncooked
2/3 c. water
1/2 cup rice, uncooked
1 T. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. basil
t tsp. garlic powder
1 T. paprika
1-1/2 T. onion, grated
1-1/2 T. celery, diced
1/4 c. carrot, shredded
1/2 c. cabbage, shredded
2 - 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 T. brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease an 11"x9" baking dish.

Cook rice in 2/3 c. water.
In a big pot of boiling water, place the whole head of cabbage. Slowly peel off the 12 large leaves needed.
In a big bowl, mix together: hamburger, sausage, cooked rice, onion, egg, sale, pepper, basil, garlic powder, paprika, celery, carrot and shredded cabbage.
Into greased 11"x9" baking dish, spread a few tablespoons of tomato sauce to the bottom of pan.
To prepare cabbage rolls, take a cooked leaf of cabbage and place a spoonful of rice filling mixture in the middle of the leaf; turn in sides of leaf and roll up. Place roll on top of tomato sauce in 11"x9" baking dish. Repeat for remaining cabbage leaves.
Mix remaining tomato sauce with 1 T. brown sugar. Pour over rolled cabbage rolls.
Cover with foil.
Bake in 350º oven, covered for 2 hours.
