5 large sweet potatoes or yams
1/4 & 1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 & 1/8 c. butter
3 eggs
1 & 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 & 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
3/4 c. white sugar
3 tbsp. heavy cream

Topping:
1/2 c. butter, softened
6 tbsp. flour
1 & 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
1 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and set aside. Place sweet potatoes on rack and bake 60 minutes or until they begin to soften. Cool slightly, peel, and mash. In a large bowl, mix the mashed sweet potatoes, salt, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, sugar and heavy cream. Transfer to the prepared baking dish. In a medium bowl make topping, combining butter, flour, brown sugar, and chopped pecans. Mix with a pastry blender to the consistency of course meal. Sprinkle over the sweet potato mixture. Bake for 30 minutes, until topping is crisp and lightly brown.º
