Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 egg
1 egg yolk (save the white)
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
colored sprinkles
cookie cutters

Directions:
Directions:
Sift the sugar. In large mixer, beat butter until soft then slowly add the sugar. Blend until very soft and creamy. Then beat in the egg, egg yolk and vanilla.
Sift before measuring 3 cups flour (this means sift some flour, then measure 3 cups. You'll have more than 3 cups flour, but you'll only use 3 cups). Resift the 3 cups flour with the salt.
Gradually add the flour into the butter mixture, blending thoroughly. Remove from bowl, wrap in plastic and chill for several hours.
Preheat oven to 400º. Taking a bit of dough at a time, roll very thin and cut with cutters. Will need to use some flour to help roll. Place on a greased cooking sheet. Brush with egg white and add sprinkles.
Bake for 4-6 minutes. Don't let them burn!! Cool on a rack and store in a tin.
