Filling:
3 c. chopped dates
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water

Crust:
3/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tbsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. salt
1 1/2 c. rolled oats

Directions:
Directions:
Mix filling ingredients in saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thick, about 10 minutes. Cool.
Mix together butter and brown sugar for crust. Mix and stir in flour, soda and salt. Stir in rolled oats and mix thoroughly.
Place 1/2 mixture in greased and floured 13"x9" pan. Press to cover bottom. Spread with cooled filling. Cover with rest of crumb mixture. Pat lightly. Bake at 400 degrees, 25-30 minutes, until light brown. While warm, cut into bars and remove from pan.
