2 cups sugar
2 sticks butter (room temperature)
1/2 cups evaporated milk, undiluted
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups flour (plain)
1/2 cup milk
4 eggs
1 small bottle (1 oz) lemon extract
Glaze
Juice of 2 lemons (1/3 - 1/2 cups)
1/2 cup sugar

Cake:
Mix together sugar, butter, evaporated milk, baking powder. Then beat for 2 mins on medium speed. Add flour and milk. Then add eggs one at a time, beating a little after each one. Add lemon extract then beat for 2 mins on medium speed. Bake 1 - 1 1/4 hour at 325 degrees F. Put waxed or baking paper on the bottom of a spring form angel food or ring cake pan. Doesn't have to be springform.
Glaze:
Cook in small pan to dissolve sugar. Spoon over warm cake, poking holes around cracked top - spreading over top trying not to lose too much over sides.
