6 c. apple slices
1 c. sugar
1 T. cornstarch
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/8 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Put 3 cups of the apples in a pie shell. Mix the rest of the ingredients. Sprinkle half over the apples. Add remaining apple and cover with rest of mixture. Dot with 1 tablespoon of butter. Cover with crust and brush with egg white and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 425 degrees for 45 to 56 minutes.
