Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup canned pumpkin (I like Libby's)
1 egg
1 tbsp. molasses
3 tbsp. heavy cream
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into cubes

Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
1 to 2 tbsp. cream

Spiced Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 to 2 tbsp. cream

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients. Add the cubed butter and using a fork, cut into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse cornmeal with pea-sized bits of butter. In a small bowl, mix all the wet ingredients; blend well. Make a well in the bowl with the flour and butter mixture. Pour the pumpkin mixture into the flour mixture; blend until a soft dough forms. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead 3 to 4 times, or until the dough comes together. Pat the dough into a 10-inch by 7-inch rectangle (a rolling pin can be used here). Cut the rectangle into 16 scones and place onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 400º oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool. Glaze: Mix powdered sugar and cream until smooth. Dip the tops of each scone into the glaze. Place on a wired rack until dry. Spiced Glaze: Mix all the ingredients until smooth. Take a spoon and drizzle the spiced glaze over the plain glaze. Let harden.

Personal Notes:
The inspiration for these pumpkin scones was the popular treat from Starbucks. I know it looks like a lot of ingredients, but trust me, the recipe is easy to make.
