2 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm milk
3 tbsp. sugar
3 eggs, room temperature
1 tsp. salt
1/2 pint sour cream, room temperature
1/2 lb. butter, softened
6 c. flour, plus more for table
Nut, apricot or poppyseed filling
Egg wash for brushing roll

Directions:
Dissolve yeast in the lukewarm milk. Combine sugar, 3 eggs, salt, sour cream and butter, mix well.
Add yeast mixture and about 6 cups of flour (1/3 at a time). Knead on a floured board until smooth. Divide into 4 parts.
Roll out on floured board to rectangle. Spread with filling, leaving a margin around the edges. Roll up from long end like a jelly roll. Place on 2 greased foil-lined baking sheets. Brush with beaten egg and let rise for 1 hour.
Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes,
