1 ½ c. sugar, granulated
½ c. milk + 4 drops red food coloring
1/tsp. white corn syrup
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. peppermint extract
2 ½ c. walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
In a 2 qt. sauce pan, mix sugar, milk with food coloring, corn syrup & salt. Cook to soft ball stage (238° F.). Add walnuts & peppermint, stir until creamy, quickly turn out on wax paper & separate with a fork.
NOTE: For Sherry Flax: leave out milk & food coloring & peppermint. Substitute with ½ cup cream sherry, 1 ½ tsp. shredded Lemon Peel.
