4 egg yolks
1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cold water
1 tsp. lemon or vanilla extract
1 ¼ tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 egg whites
1 ½ Tbsp. corn starch (put in 1 c. measuring cup, finish filling with flour)

Whip egg whites to form stiff peaks. Refrigerate. Beat egg yolks with water until thick. Add sugar gradually. Add flavoring; beat 2 or 3 minutes. Mix dry ingredients. Sift into first mixture; mix well. Fold in egg whites.
