1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2/3 cup sour milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking pwder
1 tsp baking soda
1 Tbsp orange rind
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup raisins

Glaze:
1/3 cup orange juice
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp orange rind

Directions:
Directions:
Cream fat and sugar, add eggs, vanilla, rind.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. MIx in nuts and raisins. Bake in greased tube pan 1 hour at 350º. Cool on rack.
Meanwhile mix all glaze ingredients together. Pour juice glaze over it and let stand 20 minutes. Remove to a plate.

Another of Rose's recipes. For years she made it for Ray on his birthday. Ray especially likes it because it is flavorful without being overly sweet. Good memories for him!
