1 package dry yeast
¼ cup warm milk
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
5 eggs, lightly beaten
4 tablespoons brandy (optional)
Oil for deep frying
¾ cup honey
Powdered sugar and/or cinnamon for topping

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let stand for 5 minutes.
Sift the flour, add salt and pour in the yeast mixture, beaten eggs and brandy.
Knead into a smooth elastic dough.
Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 2 hours).
Punch the dough down and roll out on a floured board until ¼" thick.
Cut into strips 1/2" wide and 2" long.
Fry in hot oil (375 degrees) for 2-3 minutes.
Drizzle with honey or dust with powdered sugar and/or cinnamon.
