Crust
1 cup sifted flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Filling
1 pkg (3 oz.) cream cheese
1 egg
1 (16 oz) can pumpkin
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup hot water

Preheat oven to 350º

Combine four and brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add walnuts. Press firmly in even layer over bottom of 10" x 6-1/4" baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, soften cream cheese, beat in egg,add pumpkin,condensed milk, spice and salt. Beat until smooth. Stir in hot water. Pour into baked walnut crest. Bake about 50 min. or until filling is barely set in center. Cool before cutting. Serve with whipped cream.

If you want to try something other than a traditional pumpkin pie, this recipe is easy and delicious! In the 1970's a couple of enterprising Realtors dropped off a small pumpkin on my door step, with this recipe tied to the stem. It has been a Thanksgiving favorite for our family since then!
