1 1/2 lb. round steak, cubed
4 T. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 tsp. pepper
3/4 tsp. garlic salt, more if desired
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. minced onion
1/4 c. water
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 lb. sliced mushrooms, or use canned, drained
1 c. sour cream

Dredge cubes in a mixture of flour, salt, pepper and garlic salt. Melt shortening in a heavy skillet and brown cubes, turning often. When cubes are nearly brown, add onion and saute until golden. Add water to dissolve particles. Add soup and mushrooms. Cook over low heat about 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Just before serving, add sour cream and heat but don't boil. Serve over potatoes or wild rice.
