5 large Granny Smith apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 & 1/2 c. sugar
1 & 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. butter (1 cube & 1/2 cube)

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and slice apples. Place apples in greased pan/casserole dish. Sprinkle with spices. Add water and lemon juice. Mix flour, sugar and butter together until crumbly. Spread over apples and bake uncovered until done. Bake at 425º for 10 minutes and then reduce temperature to 325º and continue to bake for 35 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
