2 oranges (substitute apples, lemons or limes)
Toothpicks
Whole cloves
4 ft. ribbon

Spice mixture
3 T. ground cinnamon
3 T. ground cloves
3 T. ground nutmeg
3 T. ground ginger
3 T. orris root powder

Directions:
Directions:
Stick a clove directly into the orange. You can use a toothpick to make a puncture prior to inserting clove. Make a design with the cloves or fill the entire orange with cloves- be creative. After the cloves are inserted roll the ball in the spice mixture and set aside in cool dry place to dry- about 2 weeks. Once the pomander ball is dry, tie with decorative ribbon and hang from door knobs or handles. Or several pomander balls can be used is a glass bowl for a centerpiece.
