2 cups sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup hot water
1/4 tsp salt

2 egg whites, whipped stiff

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
In a 2 quart saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water and salt.
Cook and sitr til sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a boil.
Cook to hard-ball stage (250º) without stirring.
Wipe crystals from sides of pan now and then with a fork wrapped in damp cloth.
Remove from heat.
Immediately beat egg whites stiff.
Pour hot syrup slowly over beaten whites, beating constantly at high speed with a mixer (about 5 minutes)
Add vanilla and beat til mixture forms soft peaks and begins to lose it's gloss.
Add nuts, if desired.
Drop divinity from a teaspoon onto a cookie sheet covered with waxed paper.
Twist the top when dropping.

If divinity becomes to stiff for twirling, add a few drops of hot water.
