1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 cups applesauce
4 tblsps hot water
1 cup raisins
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat well. Add applesauce and hot water and mix well. Add dry ingredients, sifted and mix until well blended. Add nuts and raisins. Bake in greased 13x9 pyrex at 350º for 45 mins. to 1 hour.
