7 oz semisweet chocolate
1/4 lb unsalted butter
7 eggs separated
1 cup sugar
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp vanilla

Whipped Cream Frosting
1/2 pint whipping cream (1 cup)
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325.
In a small saucepan melt the butter and chocolate.
In a large bowl beat the egg yolks and 3/4 sugar until light and fluffy (5 min)
Gradually beat in warm chocolate mixture and vanilla.
In another large bowl beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
Add remaining 1/4 cup of sugar 1 T at a time to the egg white mixture.
Fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture.
Pour 3/4 of the batter into an ungreased 9x3 springform pan.
Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool.
Remove from pan. Put remaining batter on top

Whip whipiping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla until peaks form.

Ice cake with whipped cream.
