3 cups flour
3 cups sugar
6 whole eggs
1 cup Snowdrift (or Crisco)
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Add soda to half of milk. Cream sugar and shortening. Sift dry ingredients. Add eggs and dry ingredients to sugar/shortening mixture. Add vanilla.
Bake in 300-350-degree oven for about 1 hour and 20 minutes
