1 cup raisins that have been boiled in 1 1/4. cups water and drained, but save the water.

2 cups flour
1/2 cup margarine or shortening (preferred shortening)
1 cup sugar
1 t. Soda
1 t. Each of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, allspice
2 eggs well beaten
2 cups rolled oats. Not quick or instant

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, sugar, shortening, soda spices together in mixing bowl. Blend well.

Add beaten eggs, raisins and 1/2 cup of raisin liquid. Mix then add rolled oats.

Drop by spoons full on greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 º. For 10 - 12 minutes

Chocolate chips may be used if desired. Substitute water plus 2T. For liquid
