1 c. butter(soft)
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. real vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour, sifted w/salt
1/4 tsp.salt
3/4 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and vanilla until creamy. Sift and stir in flour & salt. Mix in pecans. Chill until mixture sets up a bit. Roll into 1" balls. Place 2 1/2 " apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400º until set / not browned. While warm, roll in powered sugar. Cool, roll them again in powdered sugar.

John went to high school with Charles Graf. His mother, Hilda was a cookie maker extraordinaire as was Mutz (my mother-in-law). I think they started Christmas cookies right after Thanksgiving. Mutz and Hilda shared many recipes, as they did with me. Hilda and Charles came to our house one Sunday afternoon and we made some of her recipes like this one. Delicate and delicious.
