Classic Meatloaf Recipe

For Meatloaf:
2 lbs. ground beef
1 cup Panko crumbs
1 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 cup onion, grated
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

For Sauce:
2/3 cup ketchup
4 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. mustard

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine ground beef, panko crumbs, milk, egg, onion, salt and pepper in a medium sized mixing bowl. Using you hands, combine ingredients. This should take about 30 seconds. You don't want to over-mix or you will get a dense meatloaf.

Transfer meat to a large loaf pan, pressing down evenly into the pan.

Mix the sauce. Top the meatloaf with 1/2 of the sauce. Bake for 1 hr. 20 min. Remove from oven. Drain off any excess grease. Let rest for 5 minutes before cutting. Serve with remaining sauce.
