•2 cups Flour
•1 whole Egg, Beaten
•2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
•1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (use less,for less spice)
•½ teaspoon Salt
•1 cup Beer
•1 cup Oil, For Frying
•3 whole Large Vidalia Or Yellow Onions

Directions:

1. Combine flour, egg, garlic powder, cayenne, and salt. Gradually add beer, stirring, until a thick batter forms.
2. Slice onions about ½ inch thick.
3. In a heavy frying pan, heat oil (adjust amount, depending on the size of your pan, so that you have a couple of inches of oil) over medium-high heat.
4.When oil is hot, dip onions in batter and fry, turning once to brown evenly on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
* Team work - one batters while the other fry's!

This beer batter recipe is delicious and easy! Great for onion rings or any other vegetables you like fried (cauliflower, zucchini, pickles, etc.). You can re-crisp any fried food by popping leftovers into the oven at 400°F for just a few minutes. They do taste almost as good the next day.
