Sift together:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Blend:
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar

2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups old fashioned oats
2 cups chocolate chips
Optional: pecans, 1/2 cup or more

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together first four ingredients. Blend butter and sugars; add eggs to butter/sugar mixture and beat until light and fluffy. Add to flour mixture; add and blend the next three ingredients. Shape into generous balls and bake at 250 degrees for approximately 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
