Cream together:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar

Blend in:
1 egg

Sift together and add to above mixture;
1/ tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 cups flour

Blend into mixture 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Chill dough before rolling out.

For extra sparkle and color, glaze your cookies using this simple recipe:
Blend together 3/4 cup confectioner's sugar and 3 to 4 tsp. water. Follow package directions on food coloring to attain desired color. While cookies are still warm, brush with glaze.
