8 acorn squash
4 Tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
3 1/2 c half and half
1 c shredded Gruyere cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 wash and cut squash in half, remove seeds and strings. Roast until tender. Scoop out squash meat add to pot with butter, seasonings and cream. Heat slowly for 30 minutes. Makes about 6 cups
