5-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup shortening
2 tsp. baking powder
2 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup butter

Frosting:
Powdered sugar
Butter
Cream Cheese
Admond Extract

Directions:

Sift dry ingredients together. Cream shortening and add sugar. Add sour cream and beat until smooth and light. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture to creamed butter. Mix thoroughly, but not too long. Roll out on liberally floured surface. Cut into shapes. Bake 8 to 9 minutes at 375 deg. Cool and frost.

Directions for the frosting are not very clear. It simply says to mix to your own thickness and taste. Experiment with the ingredients, or make one of your own favorite icings
