Meat filling

3/4 lb ground pork
3/4 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp sage
1/8 tsp cloves
1 large cooked potato, mashed
1/2 potato water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix meat and onion in a saucepan. Bring to boiling point and allow to cook uncovered for approximately 30 minutes. (until meat is brown) Stirring constantly. Add the mashed potatoes and spices and mix well with meat. Chill.

Make pie pastry
Roll out pastry to line bottom of pie plate. Fill with meat filling. Cover top with pastry, cutting slits to allow for steam to escape. Seal pastry edges together. Bake at 425ºF for 30 minutes.

Makes 1 Tourtiere, increase ingredients to make as many as you want.
