Quick Gingerbread Recipe

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening or margarine
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup boiling water
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream sugar, shortening and egg together.
Pour boiling water into cup with molasses.
Dissolve the soda in this.
Add to creamed mixture.
Mix dry ingredients together and add to above.
Bake 325 for one hour.
Serve warm with whipped cream.
