2 1/4 c flour
1 1/2 c tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c sugar
3/4 c butter
1 tbsp. grated lemon rind
3 eggs, slightly beaten
3/4 c milk
2 tbsp. sugar
4 1/2 tsp tsp. lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 4 ingredients in bowl.Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in lemon rind. Add mixture off eggs and milk, stirring just until moistened. Spoon batter into loaf pan. Bake at 350º for 1 1/4 hours.Cool in pan for 10 min. Invert onto wire rack to cool completely. Bring 2 tbsp sugar and lemon juice to boil in saucepan over med. high heat. cook 5 min. or until slightly thickened, stirring constantly. Brush over top pf bread.
