Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Caramelized 2 onions (see directions below)
2 lb. ground round, browned in oil, then chopped up fine
2 tsp. oil
1-1/2 bell peppers, chopped (any color)
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste whisked with
about 7 oz. water
4 oz. lite corn syrup
4 oz. white vinegar
2-3 big shakes of Worcestershire sauce
1-2 T. yellow or Dijon mustard
1-1/2 c. catsup
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
Hamburger buns

Directions:
Directions:
To caramelize onions: Melt 1 T. butter in frying pan. Put in a little oil on the bottom (lightly cover the bottom of the pan with oil).
2 large chopped onions. The secret is Low and Slow. When onions start to sizzle, cut down heat to simmer. Loosely cover pan with foil - not tight. Simmer for 45 min. to 1 hour, checking and stirring every 10 minutes, until onions turn golden brown.

Brown the meat in 2 tsp. oil. Chop up fine with wooden spoon. Stir in caramelized onions and the bell peppers. Stir well. Add tomato paste mixed with water. Add corn syrup and vinegar. Stir. Shake in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, catsup and spices. Mix well. Cook on low with lid for 20-25 minutes until cooked down. Taste. Add more salt and pepper if desired. Serve on hamburger buns
