2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1\2 tsp salt
1 c butter
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
1\2 c granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 c quick cooking oats
1 pkg. ( 6oz) semi sweet chocolate pieces

Directions:

Sift flour, baking soda and salt. Beat butter and sugars in a large bowl with electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla until blended. On low speed slowly add flour mixture, then stir in oats and chocolate pieces. On lightly greased cookie sheet drop batter by 1\4 c fulls on sheet ( 2 per sheet) well separated. Bake about 14 min or until firm. Cookies will spread by themselves. Yield 1 1\2 dozen 5 inch cookies. Bake at 350º for 14 minutes or until firm. Cool 1 minute on pan and then remove to wire rack.
