2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp salt1 carton whipping cream (1/2 pint)
1/2 cup light karo
1/3 stick butter
vanilla
nuts

Mix sugar, salt, cream, karo and butter. Stir and cook to softball stage over medium heat (once it comes to a boil, it will cook for about 13 minutes or so) Stir constantly or it will scorch. Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts (2 cups) Beat and beat and beat until it is not glossy (will almost have consistency of peanut butter) Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. It should hold it's shape when you drop it. If it spreads out - scoop it back up and beat some more!

This is May May's recipe. She was such a wonderful cook. This may be one of our family's very favorite desserts! I think everyone loves it. Once you get the hang of when to 'drop' them, it's easy! This makes a wonderful gift of love!
