Pecan Pie Bars Recipe

2 sticks of butter softened
2/3 c packed brown sugar
2 2/3 c flour
1/2 tsp salt

Topping:
1 stick butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup honey
2 tables heavy cream or milk
2 cups chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Line 9x13 pan with foil leaving about 2" overhang on all sides. (Cookie sheet will do)

Make crust by creaming together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add the flour and salt and mix until crumbly. Press into foil lined pan and bake 20 minutes until golden brown.

Prepare topping by combining butter, brown sugar, honey and cream in saucepan stirring over medium heat. Simmer 1 minute then stir in pecans.

Remove crust from oven and pour pecan topping evenly over crust. Return to oven and bake an additional 20 minutes. (If it looks like the pecans are getting too dione at this point turn off oven and leave in for the remainder of the 20 minutes) Allow to cool completely in the pan. Peel foil off back of bars and transfer to cutting board to cut into squares.
