Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb ground chuck
1 small onion, chopped
1 28 oz can tomatoes
1 12 oz can tomato paste
1 cup water
1 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp oregano leaves
1/2 tsp thyme leaves
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 bay leaf
2/3 16 oz package lasagna noodles (about 14 noodles)
2 eggs
15 oz container of ricotta cheese
2 cups mozzarella cheese

Directions:
Directions:
In a large pan over high heat cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned. Drain off the fat. Add tomatoes with their liquid and the next 9 ingredients. Heat mixture to boiling, stirring to break up the tomatoes. Reduce heat to low and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove and discard the bay leaf. Cook lasagna noodles as label directs and drain well in colander. (Or buy pre-cooked noodles that can go directly into the casserole.)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl with a spoon, combine eggs and ricotta cheese. In a 9" X 13" baking dish arrange 1/2 of the noodles, overlapping to fit. Spoon 1/2 of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the mozzarella. Top with 1/2 of sauce. Repeat layers. Bake in oven for 40 minutes (watch carefully after 30 minutes, don't overcook) and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
