2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound can tomato puree
1/2 cup water (or red wine)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1 bay leaf, crushed
1/8 tsp crushed dried hot red chili peppers
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 pound ground beef

Directions:
Directions:
Stir fry ground beef with garlic in oil in a saucepan over medium heat, breaking up beef with a spoon, 8-10 minutes until browned. Add remaining ingredients, cover, and simmer 30-40 minutes stirring occasionally.
